Microsoft 365 US Midwest Outage — Azure Configuration Change

On July 18–19, 2024, Microsoft experienced a significant Microsoft 365 outage affecting the US Midwest region. Microsoft attributed the disruption to an Azure configuration change. The incident predated and was entirely separate from the CrowdStrike Falcon content update failure that began the following morning on July 19, though the proximity of the two major incidents created some confusion in initial coverage.
