Arelion (formerly Telia Carrier, AS1299) is one of the world’s largest Tier 1 internet transit providers. In mid-August 2024, the network experienced a service degradation that drew significant discussion on the NANOG and outages mailing lists. Customers and downstream networks observed connectivity or performance issues.
